Anti-inflammatory activity of elicited soybean (Glycine max) extract on Balb/C mice (Mus musculus) with high-fat and -fructose diet

open access: yesCentral European Journal of Immunology, 2019
Obesity causes adipocyte hypertrophy, which leads to cell death. Consequently, macrophages and lymphocytes infiltrate into the adipose tissue and elevate pro-inflammatory cytokine production through TLR activation.

Reduction in circulating levels of CD4-positive lymphocytes in acute pancreatitis: Relationship to endotoxin, interleukin 6 and disease severity

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1993
Abstract The proportion of peripheral blood mononuclear cells expressing the T helper cell phenotype and levels of antiendotoxin core antibody, interleukin (IL) 6 and C-reactive protein (CRP) were determined within 48 h of admission in a group of 29 patients with acute pancreatitis (16 mild, 13 severe attacks).

Sequential emergence and clinical implications of viral mutants with K70E and K65R mutation in reverse transcriptase during prolonged tenofovir monotherapy in rhesus macaques with chronic RT-SHIV infection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
BackgroundWe reported previously on the emergence and clinical implications of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIVmac251) mutants with a K65R mutation in reverse transcriptase (RT), and the role of CD8+ cell-mediated immune responses in suppressing ...

Delivery of Islatravir via High Drug‐Load, Long‐acting Microarray Patches for the Prevention or Treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Islatravir‐loaded dissolving microarray patches (MAPs) provide a minimally invasive, long‐acting solution for HIV‐1 prevention and treatment. In rats, sustained islatravir delivery lasts up to three months, while in minipigs, efficacious plasma levels are detected for six days.

Evolution of replication efficiency following infection with a molecularly cloned feline immunodeficiency virus of low virulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The development of an effective vaccine against human immunodeficiency virus is considered to be the most practicable means of controlling the advancing global AIDS epidemic.

Dendrimer Conjugates with PD‐L1‐Binding Peptides Enhance In Vivo Antitumor Immune Response

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this paper, a novel nanoparticle scaffold composed of dendrimers conjugated with peptide‐based immune checkpoint inhibitors, enhancing drug delivery efficacy is introduced. By conjugating PD‐L1‐binding peptides to dendrimers, multivalent binding effects are harnessed, resulting in enhanced binding affinity, prolonged half‐life, and improved ...

Increased CD4+ T cell lineage commitment determined by CpG methylation correlates with better prognosis in urinary bladder cancer patients

open access: yesClinical Epigenetics, 2018
Background Urinary bladder cancer is a common malignancy worldwide. Environmental factors and chronic inflammation are correlated with the disease risk.

Expansion of CD25-Negative Forkhead Box P3-Positive T Cells during HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV alter the immune system, and coinfected (HIV-TB) individuals usually present deregulations of T-lymphocytic immune response.

Engineered MSC Aggregates with E/N‐Cadherin and IL‐6 Preconditioning for the Treatment of Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered 3D‐Cad/IL6‐MSC, developed through synergistic hE/N‐cad‐Fc and IL‐6 preconditioning, show remarkable therapeutic potential for systemic sclerosis. These engineered MSC aggregates reduce pathogenic inflammatory cell infiltration and restore immune balance among CD4+ T‐cell populations, offering a promising approach to optimize MSC based ...
