Regulation of the localization and stability of Cdc6 in living yeast cells
The Cdc6 protein is an essential regulator for initiation of DNA replication. Following the G1/S transition, Cdc6 is degraded through a ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis pathway. In this study, we tagged Cdc6 with green fluorescent protein (GFP) and used site-specific mutations to study the regulation of Cdc6 localization and degradation in living yeast ...

Cdc6 knockdown inhibits human neuroblastoma cell proliferation
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2008The cell division controller Cdc6 plays a central role in the initiation of DNA replication. It was found that elevated levels of Cdc6 were present in many of human cancer cells, and the accumulation of Cdc6 is required for cell proliferation. In this study, we have investigated the control of Cdc6 expression and its effect on cell proliferation and ...

Multiple, short protein binding motifs in ORC1 and CDC6 control the initiation of DNA replication
The initiation of DNA replication involves cell cycle-dependent assembly and disassembly of protein complexes, including the origin recognition complex (ORC) and CDC6 AAA+ ATPases.

Interaction trap experiment with CDC6
Pflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2000CDC6 is an essential gene of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Although DNA sequence of the gene is available for a long time, biochemical function of Cdc6 protein in the cell cycle remains unclear. Using the interaction trap experiment we were looking for proteins interacting specifically with Cdc6. Four gene products interacting with Cdc6 were detected.
