A study of cecal ligation and puncture-induced sepsis in tissue-specific tumor necrosis factor receptor 1-deficient mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Sepsis is a complex syndrome resulting from a dysregulated immune response to an infection. Due to the high prevalence, morbidity, and mortality, there is a lot of interest in understanding pathways that play a role in sepsis, with a focus on the immune ...

m1A‐Dependent TRMT6/61A‐ARG2 Axis Drives Protumorigenic Senescence by Remodeling the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Uncovering a new layer of translational control, this study reveals how TRMT6/TRMT61A‐mediated tRNA‐m1A methylation drives pro‐tumorigenic senescence in colorectal cancer. By selectively enhancing ARG2 translation, this epitranscriptomic axis triggers an NF‐κB‐dependent SASP.

Pasture intake protects against commercial diet-induced lipopolysaccharide production facilitated by gut microbiota through activating intestinal alkaline phosphatase enzyme in meat geese

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
IntroductionDiet strongly affects gut microbiota composition, and gut bacteria can influence the intestinal barrier functions and systemic inflammation through metabolic endotoxemia.

A Prussian Blue Nanozyme‐Adjuvanted Vaccine Presenting Phosphocholine Antigens for Induction of Immunotolerance in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a complex disorder characterized by chronic intestinal inflammation and impaired barrier function, for which effective long‐term therapies remain elusive. To address this challenge, we developed a novel nano‐vaccine that combines Prussian blue nanozymes (PBNZs) adjuvants with a ferritin carrier loaded with ...

Engineered Bacteria‐Vesicle Delivered Lactate Reprogramming Boosts Tumor Radiosensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We engineered a bacterial‐vesicular dual‐delivery platform that targets LOx to colorectal tumors, enabling lactate clearance, immune microenvironment remodeling, and microbiota modulation. This microbe–metabolism synergistic strategy effectively sensitizes colorectal cancer to radiotherapy, offering a promising approach to overcome radioresistance ...

Cecal volvulus on top of Ladd’s band: a case report and review of literature

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre
Background Cecal volvulus is a rare cause of bowel obstruction that represents a challenge in both diagnosis and management. This unique form of closed-loop obstruction occurs due to a twist in the mesentery with subsequent dilatation of the cecum.
