Cell‐Free Protein Synthesis by Rumen Protozoa
The Journal of Protozoology, 1968SYNOPSIS. The characteristics of protein synthesis by cell‐free extracts of mixed rumen protozoa have been investigated. ATP,1 GTP, and an energy supply system were necessary for amino acid incorporation which was partially inhibited by cycloheximide but not by chloramphenicol (100 μg/ml).

Cell-free protein synthesis of CRISPR ribonucleoproteins (RNP)
2021Cell-free protein synthesis is a powerful tool to produce recombinant proteins, and as an open system, can often integrate all or part of downstream assays. Here we describe in vitro synthesis of the Streptococcus pyogenes type II-A CRISPR-Cas9 ribonucleoproteins (SpCas9 RNPs), consisting of the effector protein and the single guide RNAs (sgRNAs).

Cell-Free Unnatural Protein Synthesis
2019Naturally, proteins generally consist of twenty natural amino acids (NAAs) as building blocks, which can form a nearly unlimited number of combinations by random combination to realize structural and functional diversity. Unfortunately, it is not enough using these natural blocks to generate proteins with specific characteristics.

Cell-free synthesis of glial fibrillary acidic protein
Neurochemical Research, 1980Glial fibrillary acidic (GFA) protein has been synthesized in an RNA-dependent cell-free system derived from rabbit reticulocytes. The cell-free synthesized product appears to have the same size as GFA protein isolated from bovine spinal cord, thus showing that GFA protein does not undergo detectable proteolytic processing.

Cell-Free Natural Protein Synthesis
2019Because no living cells are involved, the open cell-free biosystems can be flexibly regulated to produce proteins in a few hours. In the open system, the transcription and translation process can be directly controlled on demand by adjusting the temperature, salts, and redox environment and adding nature or human-made materials.

Quantification of Interlaboratory Cell-Free Protein Synthesis Variability
ACS Synthetic Biology, 2019Cell-free protein synthesis (CFPS) platforms, once primarily a research tool to produce difficult to express proteins, are increasingly being pursued by the synthetic biology community for applications including biomanufacturing, rapid screening systems, and field-ready sensors. While consistency within individual studies is apparent in the literature,

Protein Synthesis in Cell-Free Systems
1998Cell-free extracts are widely used to identify and study the proteins encoded by cloned cDNAs, viral genomes or other exogenous mRNA, etc., as well as to investigate transcriptional and translational control. In vitro translation is in many instances the method of choice for the rapid analysis of uncharacterized proteins, provided that the cDNA ...
