Cell blocks from scraping of cytology smear: comparison with conventional cell block.

Acta cytologica, 2008
To compare cytomorphology preservation and immunohistochemistry results between conventional cell blocks (CCB) and cytoscrape cell blocks (SCB).Fine needle aspiration (FNAC) was done in 17 consecutive cases. Air-dried smears for May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain and wet-fixed smear for hematoxylin-eosin (H-E) stain were prepared.

Preparation of Cells for Microscopy using ‘Cell Blocks’

2013
Microscopy is a simple, direct technique for examining the morphology of cells and their organelles. Embedding cells in agarose and then in paraffin as 'cell blocks' allows for them to be processed in the same manner that tissue specimens are processed for histology.

Comparison of the Cellient automated cell block system and agar cell block method

Cytopathology, 2014
ObjectiveTo compare the CellientTM automated cell block system with the agar cell block method in terms of quantity and quality of diagnostic material and morphological, histochemical and immunocytochemical features.Materials and MethodsCell blocks were prepared from 100 effusion samples using the agar method and Cellient system, and routinely ...

Millipore Filter Cell Block Preparation: An Alternative to Cell Block in Nongynecologic Specimens of Limited Cellularity

Diagnostic Cytopathology, 1999
The use of membrane filters to concentrate cytology specimens was first described by Seal (Cancer 1956; 9:866-868). We report on a technique in which a portion of Papanicolaou-stained Millipore filter (Millipore Corp, Bedford, MA) preparation can be converted into a paraffin block for hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) preparations and immunocytochemical analysis

Mantle cell lymphoma of the thyroid: The helpful role of cell‐blocks

Cytopathology, 2017
Cell‐block obtained from thyroid FNA is helpful in the diagnosis of thyroid lymphoma. Mantle cell lymphoma of the thyroid can be easily diagnosed on cell‐block. Immunohistochemistry on cell‐block specimen is helpful in the differential diagnosis of thyroid lymphoma.

Cell Phone Distractions Blocked

2010
Laws regarding hand-held cell phone usage and text messaging have been enacted in many states. These laws have not had much of an impact since the in decreasing the number of accidents resulting from distracted driving, according to numerous studies. The main way to fight this epidemic is to educate the public of the various dangers and ways to prevent
