Overview of Cell and Tissue Culture Techniques
Current Protocols in Pharmacology, 1999AbstractCulture preparations vary greatly in complexity, ranging from single isolated cells to three‐dimensional histotypic cell structures. Besides cultures obtained directly from animal tissues (primary cultures), permanent cultures of continuously dividing (immortalized) cells have been established.

A simplified technique for the culture of amniotic fluid cells
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1971Summary Based on studies of 40 consecutive amnioticfluid specimens, it was concluded that the most reliable and efficient technique for the culture of amniotic fluid cells is to utilize the amniotic fluid itself as the culture medium. Neither additives nor manipulation of the fluid are necessary; even gentle centrifugation and resuspension may ...

A simple marker technique for cells in culture
Experimental Cell Research, 1964To study the interaction of two morphologically similar populations of living cells, it is necessary to distinguish them with some suitable marker. A characteristic karyotype may be used for this purpose and has the advantage that it persists during cell multiplication, but it is not possible to make direct differential counts on the living cells.

Chapter 1 Animal Cell Culture Equipment and Techniques
1998Publisher Summary This chapter describes some of the basics of cell-culture equipment and techniques, which are based on innovations, observations, realizations, accidents, mistakes, and misunderstandings encountered in cell-culture laboratories. The chapter discusses cell-culture equipment, such as hoods, incubators, microscopes, autoclaves, water ...

A novel cell culture technique for electron microscopy
Microscopy Research and Technique, 1993AbstractA simplified technique for the monolayer growth of cultured cells and their in situ embedment on the inner surface of the pyramidal portion of the Beem capsule for electron microscopy has been developed. The results demonstrated that the cell monolayers grew well on the surface of the Beem capsule and could be embedded in situ.

Improved Technique for Electron Microscopy of Cultured Cells
Stain Technology, 1977A number of techniques are presented which precise selection and efficient preparation of individual cultured cells for electron microscopy. Techniques described include marking of the living and embedded cells, drilling and mounting cores of embedded material, and improved technique for marking of the selected area on the block face before trimming.

[8] The technique of mammalian cell culture
1962Publisher Summary This chapter emphasizes on the two generally useful techniques of mammalian cell culture: monolayer cultures grown adherent to a glass surface and suspension cultures agitated by a magnetic "spinner". Mammalian cells in culture may be considered as fastidious microorganisms with a relatively long generation time.

Techniques for Culturing Arterial Endothelial Cells
1977Lazzarini (3) was one of the first to make use of the methods of tissue culture in the study of the nature of cells of blood vessels. His pioneer work was continued and extended by Pollack and his group (5). Like any other new approach this also had been vigorously discussed until recently.
