Localisation of nucleolus-organising regions in interphase cells
Cell and Tissue Research, 1979A technique based on the use of silver solutions, which selectively stains the nucleolus-organising regions (NORs) in chromosomes, was applied to interphase Ehrlich tumour cells. The results indicate that nucleolar fibrillar centres correspond to the NORs.

This developmental period lasts about a day, and during it the volumes of the nurse cell nucleolus, nucleus and cytoplasm all double once every 4–5 hours.
