Enhancement of Progenitor Cells by Two-Step Centrifugation of Emulsified Lipoaspirates
Background: Adipose-derived stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, and soluble factors jointly contribute to the regenerative effect of fat grafts. Nanofat grafting emulsifies the lipoaspirate and increases the progenitor cell yield.

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

Rapid isolation and purification of mitochondria for transplantation using tissue dissociation and differential filtration [PDF]
Researchers have identified several methods for treating acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients affected by ischemia and reperfusion injury. Some of these therapies include thrombolysis, balloon angioplasty, and coronary arterial bypass graft (CAGB).

Behaviour of the Centrifugal Force and of Ellipticity for a Slowly Rotating Fluid Configuration with Different Equations of State [PDF]
We have evaluated the centrifugal force acting on a fluid element and the ellipticity of the fluid configuration, which is slowly rotating, using the Hartle-Thorne solution for different equations of state. The centrifugal force shows a maximum in every case, whereas the reversal in sign could be seen in only one case, and the system becomes unstable ...

The protonated form of butyrate, as well as other short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs), is membrane permeable. In acidic extracellular environments, this can lead to intracellular accumulation of SCFAs and cytosolic acidification. This phenomenon will be particularly relevant in acidic environments such as the large intestine or tumor microenvironments ...

Oil-Removal Performance of Rotating-Disk-Type Oil Separator
Oil mist adversely affects the health of workplace workers, and for this reason, regulations on the limitation of the oil-mist exposure of workers are becoming stricter.

The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Brucella NyxA and NyxB dimerization enhances effector function during infection
Brucella abortus thrives inside cells thanks to the translocation of effector proteins that fine‐tune cellular functions. NyxA and NyxB are two effectors that destabilize the nucleolar localization of their host target, SENP3. We show that the Nyx proteins directly interact with each other and that their dimerization is essential for their function ...

A curious spacetime entirely free of centrifugal acceleration [PDF]
In the Einstein gravity, besides the usual gravitational and centrifugal potential there is an additional attractive term that couples these two together. It is fun to enquire whether the latter could fully counteract the centrifugal repulsion everywhere making the spacetime completely free of the centrifugal acceleration.
