Using Higher Order Neural Network (HONN) simulator, this study analyzes debt of the municipalities as a function of population and CEO tenure, and compares the results with that from SAS.

CEO tenure and corporate social responsibility performance

Abstract In this study, we examine whether and how CEO tenure affects firms' corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. Using a sample of U.S. firms for the 1999–2013 period, we find that firms' CSR performance is significantly higher in CEOs' early tenure than in their later tenure.

We examine how CEO tenure and board characteristics affect board monitoring, CEO turnover, and firm performance. We find that board meeting frequency declines as CEO tenure increases and the board has a greater proportion of insiders. The intensity of both relations varies by industry.
