Thirty‐seven potential culturable P‐solubilizing bacteria candidates were isolated from Zimbabwean soils and can unlock P in rock phosphates, offering an alternative affordable source of P for resource‐constrained farming communities. ABSTRACT Soil phosphorus deficiency and the high cost of mineral fertilizers necessitate research into alternative ...

In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Raw Honey From Apis mellifera, Awi Zone, Amhara, Ethiopia
Honey samples were collected from districts of Awi zone. The moisture contents and pH of honey samples were 13 ± 0.07–20 ± 0.09 and 3.76–4.01, respectively. Pure 100% honey samples showed the greatest inhibition zone with 25% showed the lowest inhibition zone against tested bacterial pathogens.

Thioxolone derivatives are evaluated for antibacterial and anti‐diabetic potential. Compounds T‐11, T‐12, and T‐13 exhibit potent antibacterial activity against E. coli, B. cereus, and S. aureus, with low MIC values. T‐11 and T‐3 show stronger α‐glucosidase inhibition than acarbose, while molecular docking reveals T‐13 as the strongest binder ...

ABSTRACT The growing demand for alternative food packaging materials has gained significant attention, driven by both European and global policies aimed at promoting a more sustainable food system. In the present work, more sustainable packaging materials were compared to a conventional system (tray in PET/EVOH/PE with lid in PET/EVOH/PE) to preserve ...

Harnessing Pelargonium Odoratissimum Extracts for Sustainable Ground Meat Preservation
ABSTRACT Pelargonium odoratissimum is traditionally recognized for its medicinal properties, yet its potential in food preservation remains underexplored. This study evaluated the phytochemical composition, antioxidant capacity, and antibacterial activity of its solvent extracts, with emphasis on the ethyl acetate fraction.
