Significance of cervical length and cervical gland area in cervical maturation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Reproduction, Contraception, Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2016
Background: The traditional method of predicting whether an induced labor will result in successful vaginal delivery is based on pre-induction favorability of cervix as assessed by bishop score. Currently assessment of cervical maturation by sonographically at term in induction of labor is most accurate and highly reproducible compared to Bishop score.

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Early midtrimester serum insulin-like factors and cervical length to predict preterm delivery

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2016
Objective: To investigate which ultrasound findings or serum biomarkers, including insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1 and 3 (IGFBP-1 and IGFBP-3, respectively), in the first and early second trimesters ...

Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

Electrostatically‐Stabilized PEG‐Free Lipid Nanoparticles for Systemic Nucleic Acid Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes non‐PEGylated layered lipid nanoparticles (nonPEG LLNPs), a gene delivery platform that improves upon standard PEGylated LNPs via electrostatic adsorption of charged polymers. nonPEG LLNPs maintain colloidal stability under biological stresses, enhance circulation time, and mitigate accelerated blood clearance and hepatic ...

Tissue‐Adhesive Fabric‐Based Bioelectronics for Wearable and Implantable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An implantable and wearable bioelectronic textile (iTextile) is introduced as a unified platform bridging wearable and implantable systems. By integrating a self‐healing polymer, stretchable silk fabric, conductive composite electrodes, and an adhesive hydrogel, the platform enables conformal, stable interfacing with soft tissues. The iTextile supports

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Neutrophil elastase in cervical fluid in women with short cervical length

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2018
The aim of the study was to determine the relationships between short cervical length (CL) and levels of cervical fluid neutrophil elastase (NE), secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI), and interleukin 8 (IL-8) in the second trimester of pregnancy of women who underwent ultrasound-indicated cervical cerclage.CL of

Cervical Length and Perinatal Outcome

open access: yes, 2023
Prematurity nowadays has taken on significant dimensions. It is a complex medical issue with socio-economic consequences. The estimation of cervical length, assessed during the second trimester of pregnancy, using transvaginal ultrasound, may help to reduce rates of prematurity.
