Fe2-homogenization of micromorphic elasto-plastic materials [PDF]
In this work, a homogenization strategy for a micromorphic–type inelastic material is presented. In the spirit of FE2, a representative volume element is attached to each macroscopic quadrature point.

Scalar, vectorial and tensorial damage parameters from the mesoscopic background
In the mesoscopic theory a distribution of different crack sizes and crack orientations is introduced. A scalar damage parameter, a second order damage tensor and a vectorial damage parameter are defined in terms of this distribution function.

Microcracks closure effects in initially orthotropic materials [PDF]
Microcracking is one of the basic mechanisms of inelastic deformation for a large class of anisotropic materials such as brittle matrix composites. Even at fixed microcracks density, the macroscopic behavior of these materials is very complex due to the ...

Low Cycle Fatigue Weld Optimization using Chaboche Material Model
In this master thesis a method for optimizing welds has been investigated. The method was developed by the use of a finite element (FE)-model of a silencer. The silencer is exposed to both dynamic and thermal loads. Focus has been on using topology optimization for the welds.

A differential CDM model for fatigue of unidirectional metal matrix composites [PDF]
A multiaxial, isothermal, continuum damage mechanics (CDM) model for fatigue of a unidirectional metal matrix composite volume element is presented. The model is phenomenological, stress based, and assumes a single scalar internal damage variable, the ...
