An amphiphilic pseudo[1]catenane: neutral guest-induced clouding point change

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
The hydrophobic/hydrophilic ratio in a molecule largely affects its assembled properties in aqueous media. In this study, we synthesized a new bicyclic compound which could dynamically change its hydrophobic/hydrophilic ratio by chemical stimulus.

4,8,9,10-Tetrakis(4-fluorophenyl)-1,3-diazatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decan-6-one

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, C32H24F4N2O, all four six-membered rings that constitute the diazaadamantanone cage adopt chair conformations. Two of the four fluorophenyl substituents occupy axial positions and the other two occupy equatorial positions relative ...

Observation of interacting Josephson vortex chains by magnetic force microscopy

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
The ability to control Josephson vortices is instrumental for development of superconducting cryoelectronics. However, direct visualization of multivortex states in Josephson junctions is a challenging task.

Descending Chain Conditions and Graded Rings

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1995
Let \(S\) be a semigroup, let \(R=\bigoplus R_s\) (\(s\in R\)) be an \(S\)-graded ring, and let \(J(R)\) be the Jacobson radical of \(R\). Put \(J_{\text{gr}}(R)=\bigoplus(R_s\cap J(R))\); \(J_{\text{gr}}(R)\) is called the homogeneous part of \(J(R)\). For \(R\) satisfying certain classical finiteness conditions, a description of \(R/J_{\text{gr}}(R)\)

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

MDS and MHDR Cyclic Codes over Finite Chain Rings

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
This work establishes a unique set of generators for a cyclic code over a finite chain ring. Towards this, we first determine the minimal spanning set and rank of the code.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Crystal structure of 4,6-bis[(E)-4-bromostyryl]-2-(butylsulfanyl)pyrimidine

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
In the title compound, C24H22Br2N2S, the dihedral angles between the central pyrimidine ring and the pendant bromobenzene rings are 11.02 (11) and 13.20 (12)°. The butyl side chain adopts a gauche conformation [C—C—C—C = −67.4 (4)°]. In the crystal, weak

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
