Analysis of publicly available data on the biological activities associated with the Staphylococcus aureus NorA efflux pump shows critical inconsistencies and homogeneity issues that hinder the discovery of NorA inhibitors. Based on the tips extracted from this analysis, a standardized experimental pipeline is proposed to improve data quality and ...

Hybrid Molecules as Efficient Drugs against Multidrug‐Resistant Malaria Parasites
Among hybrid molecules currently developed as antimalarial drug candidates, emoquine‐1 exhibits high activity against all the multidrug‐resistant Plasmodium strains tested up to now, including artemisinin‐resistant quiescent parasites, critical parameters for promising antimalarial drugs. It is also curative in mouse malaria.

SAR and molecular mechanism studies of monoamine oxidase inhibition by selected chalcone analogs
The present study describes the synthesis of a series of 22 chalcone analogs. These compounds were evaluated as potential human MAO-A and MAO-B inhibitors. The compounds showed varied selectivity against the two isoforms. The IC50 values were found to be

Tuberculosis (TB) is the leading cause of death among infectious diseases, and new studies focusing new anti‐TB drugs are urgent due to the emergence of drug‐resistant strains. In this regard, homoisoflavones, an underexplored subgroup of flavonoids, were explored for their potential as anti‐TB agents.

New α‐glycosides of chalcones and dihydrochalcones, analogues of naturally occurring phlorizin, have been synthesized using a CGTase‐catalyzed glycosylation that was successfully scaled‐up in a 10‐liter reactor. The α‐glycosides were (i) purified using an original centrifugal partition chromatography technique, (ii) characterized through NMR and LC–MS ...

This review gathers examples of iron‐based photosensitizers that have been successfully immobilized on metal oxide surfaces for dye‐sensitized solar cells and potential dye‐sensitized photoelectrosynthesic cells applications. A critical comparison of Fe‐based photosensitizers is made based on their photophysical properties, electrochemistry, and ...

Ammoniation of Dietary Flavonoids Containing a Pyrogallol Group With Amino Acids at 37°C
Scheme of reaction exploration, synthesis, structural identification, and bioactivities of ammoniated flavonoids. ABSTRACT New research shows that flavonoids containing a pyrogallol group in ring B react with amino acids at 37°C, forming ammoniated derivatives and aldehydes.

Biotechnology Advances in Natural Food Colorant Acylated Anthocyanin Production
ABSTRACT The food application of natural blue colorants such as acylated anthocyanin is becoming increasingly popular due to their safety, nutritional value, organoleptic attributes, and more pH/thermo‐stable properties compared to nonacylated anthocyanins.
