Differential Expression of Benzophenone Synthase and Chalcone Synthase in [PDF]
cDNAs encoding Hypericum sampsonii benzophenone synthase (HsBPS) and chalcone synthase (HsCHS) were isolated and functionally characterized. Differential expressions of HsBPS and HsCHS were monitored using quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In

Identification and Functional Characterization of Fungal Chalcone Synthase and Chalcone Isomerase. [PDF]
By mining fungal genomic information, a noncanonical iterative type I PKS fused with an N-terminal adenylation-thiolation didomain, which catalyzes the formation of naringenin chalcone, was found. Structural prediction and molecular docking analysis indicated that a C-terminal thioesterase domain was involved in the Claisen-type cyclization.

Mechanism of Chalcone Synthase [PDF]
Chalcone and stilbene synthases (CHS and STS) catalyze condensation reactions of p-coumaroyl-CoA and three C(2)-units from malonyl-CoA, but catalyze different cyclization reactions to produce naringenin chalcone and resveratrol, respectively. Condensing activities of wild-type CHS and STS as well as STS-C60S mutant were inhibited by iodoacetamide (Idm)

Structural and Interactional Analysis of the Flavonoid Pathway Proteins: Chalcone Synthase, Chalcone Isomerase and Chalcone Isomerase-like Protein. [PDF]
Chalcone synthase (CHS) and chalcone isomerase (CHI) catalyze the first two committed steps of the flavonoid pathway that plays a pivotal role in the growth and reproduction of land plants, including UV protection, pigmentation, symbiotic nitrogen fixation, and pathogen resistance.

Transformation of acridone synthase to chalcone synthase [PDF]
Acridone synthase (ACS) and chalcone synthase (CHS) catalyse the pivotal reactions in the formation of acridone alkaloids or flavonoids. While acridone alkaloids are confined almost exclusively to the Rutaceae, flavonoids occur abundantly in all seed‐bearing plants.

Functional Characterization of a Flavone Synthase That Participates in a Kumquat Flavone Metabolon
Flavones predominantly accumulate as O- and C-glycosides in kumquat plants. Two catalytic mechanisms of flavone synthase II (FNSII) support the biosynthesis of glycosyl flavones, one involving flavanone 2-hydroxylase (which generates 2-hydroxyflavanones ...

Stilbene Synthase and Chalcone Synthase [PDF]
Cultured cells of Picea excelsa capable of forming stilbenes and flavanoids have been established. Unlike needles of intact plants containing piceatannol (3,3',4',5-tetrahydroxystilbene) and stilbene glycosides the cultured cells converted phenylalanine and p-coumaric acid primarily into resveratrol monomethyl ether (3,4'-dihydroxy-5-methoxystilbene ...
