The Methods of Change Point Detection and Statistical Estimating of Dynamic of the Noise Stochastic Signals Characteristics

open access: yes, 2016
General vector model of the noise stochastic signals with piece-stationary and pieceperiodic stochastic processes is presented. Using statistical estimation of the time change points of the indicated components on the well-known detection methods gives

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

On disinflation since 1982: an application of change-point tests [PDF]

open access: yes
An examination of recent changes in the statistical properties of alternative measures of core inflation, identifying statistically significant change points in the fixed mean and finding that for all measures considered, changes in the inflation rate ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Asymptotic Behavior of Estimators for One Change-Point Detection Based on Processes Whose Kernel Function Has Degree Greater than Two

open access: yesMathematics
We study change-point estimation for absolutely continuous independent and identically distributed random variables from a nonparametric point of view.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Change-point estimator in continuous quadratic regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
summary:The paper deals with the asymptotic distribution of the least squares estimator of a change point in a regression model where the regression function has two phases --- the first linear and the second quadratic.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

The Set-Point Theory of Well-Being Needs Replacing: On the Brink of a Scientific Revolution? [PDF]

open access: yes
Set-point theory has dominated the field of subjective well-being (SWB). It has served as a classic Kuhn research paradigm, being extended and refined for thirty years totake in new results. The central plank of the theory is that adult set-points do not

Valuing adaptation under rapid change [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The methods used to plan adaptation to climate change have been heavily influenced by scientific narratives of gradual change and economic narratives of marginal adjustments to that change.
