S.3827 and a Systematic Review of State-Level Multisector Plans for Aging: How Incorporating Volunteer Caregiving Can Mitigate Service Gaps

open access: yesInquiry: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing
Recognizing the growing need to establish and enhance the necessary service infrastructure to better address the diverse needs of a rapidly aging US population, S.3827 (ie, Strategic Plan for Aging Act) seeks to provide federal support for the creation ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Short‐chain mono‐carboxylates as negative modulators of allosteric transitions in Gloeobacter violaceus ligand‐gated ion channel, and impact of a pre‐β5 strand (Loop Ω) double mutation on crotonate, not butyrate effect

open access: yesPhysiological Reports
Using the bacterial proton‐activated pentameric receptor‐channel Gloeobacter violaceus ligand‐gated ion channel (GLIC): (1) We characterize saturated, mono‐carboxylates as negative modulators of GLIC (as previously shown for crotonate; Alqazzaz et al ...

μ-Coriolis Mass Flow Sensor with Resistive Readout

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
This paper presents a μ -Coriolis mass flow sensor with resistive readout. Instead of measuring a net displacement such as in a capacitive readout, a resistive readout detects the deformation of the suspended micro-fluidic channel.

Necessary and sufficient conditions for local creation of quantum correlation

open access: yes, 2012
Quantum correlation can be created by a local operation from some initially classical states. We prove that the necessary and sufficient condition for a local trace-preserving channel to create quantum correlation is that it is not a commutativity ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

On the Gaussian Many-to-One X Channel

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, the Gaussian many-to-one X channel, which is a special case of general multiuser X channel, is studied. In the Gaussian many-to-one X channel, communication links exist between all transmitters and one of the receivers, along with a ...

Optimal channels for channelized quadratic estimators

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2016
We present a new method for computing optimized channels for estimation tasks that is feasible for high-dimensional image data. Maximum-likelihood (ML) parameter estimates are challenging to compute from high-dimensional likelihoods. The dimensionality reduction from M measurements to L channels is a critical advantage of channelized quadratic ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
