Analysis of a characteristic equation
The authors investigate a characteristic equation occurring in epidemic models formulated in terms of integro-differential equations, where births and deaths are introduced and the total population size is assumed to be constant. They establish conditions on the two parameters of this equation, under which an equilibrium position is stable.

Analytic solutions of transcendental equations with application to automatics
In the paper the extremal dynamic error x(τ) and the moment of time τ are considered. The extremal value of dynamic error gives information about accuracy of the system. The time τ gives information about velocity of transient.

Mordell's equation in characteristic three [PDF]
Let K be a function field in one variable over a finite field of characteristic three. If a ∈ K is not a cube, we show that the equation y2 = x3 + a has only finitely many solutions x, y ∈ K.

THE CHARACTERISTIC EQUATION FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE VIBRATION INHERENT FREQUENCIES AT BENDING FROM TWO-SHAFTS TRANSMISSION [PDF]
To avoid system resonance operation is necessary to know the most accurate values its pulsations and taking appropriate constructive measures to avoid overlapping with disturbing frequency harmonics n,2n,3n (n the transmission speed).

Ince-Gaussian laser beams as superposition of Hermite-Gaussian or Laguerre-Gaussian beams
We obtain explicit analytic expressions for the Ince-Gaussian (IG) beams for several first indices p = 3, 4, 5, 6. Earlier, explicit expressions have been derived for amplitudes of the IG beams with p = 0, 1, 2 and without regard for the ellipticity ...

Behavior of the solutions to second order linear autonomous delay differential equations
A wide class of second order linear autonomous delay differential equations with distributed type delays is considered. An asymptotic result, a useful exponential estimate of the solutions, a stability criterion, and a result on the behavior of the ...

Tamanoi Equation for Orbifold Euler Characteristics Revisited
Tamanoi equation is a Macdonald type equation for the orbifold Euler characteristic and for its analogues of higher orders. It claims that the generating series of the orbifold Euler characteristics of a fixed order of analogues of the symmetric powers for a space with a finite group action can be represented as a certain unified (explicitly written ...
