Percolative nature of the dc paraconductivity in the cuprate superconductors

open access: yes, 2017
We present an investigation of the planar direct-current (dc) paraconductivity of the model cuprate material HgBa$_2$CuO$_{4+\delta}$ in the underdoped part of the phase diagram.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Characterisation of HTSC ceramics from their resistive transition

open access: yes, 1997
The resistivity vs. temperature relation in bulk ceramic HTSC under self-field conditions as well as in weak external magnetic fields is modelled by local Lorentz force induced fluxon motion with temperature dependent pinning. A pinning force density and

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

CHARACTERISTIC OF PRASEODYMIUM OXIDE BASED CATALYST IN METHANATION: EFFECT CALCINATION TEMPERATURE

open access: yesJournal of Academia, 2021
Methanation reaction using carbon dioxide gas is one of favorable green technology to form methane gas by converting carbon dioxide in the presence of hydrogen. This technology needs the catalyst to achieve a higher catalytic activity.

Nonequilibrium dynamics of a simple stochastic model

open access: yes, 1997
We investigate the low-temperature dynamics of a simple stochastic model, introduced recently in the context of the physics of glasses. The slowest characteristic time at equilibrium diverges exponentially at low temperature.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Fluctuations of Goldstone modes and the chiral transition in QCD

open access: yes, 2008
We provide evidence for the influence of thermal fluctuations of Goldstone modes on the chiral condensate at finite temperature.

TEMPERATURE CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE GROWTH OF THE SPORANGIOPHORES OF PHYCOMYCES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1928
1. With constant temperature and light intensity, the rate of elongation of a sporangiophore of Phycomyces is constant for many hours. 2. With constant light intensity, values of µ, the "critical thermal increment," have been computed for the elongation of different sporangiophores.
