Charge Exchange Spectroscopy of Multiply Charged Erbium Ions
The origin of heavier elements than iron is still under discussion, and recent studies suggest that the contribution of the r-process in neutron star mergers is dominant.

Charge-exchange straggling in equilibrium
A general expression has been derived that allows computation of charge-exchange straggling of swift heavy ions when many charge states are involved. Charge exchange is found to hinge on the variation of the stopping cross section with the ion charge and on the transient behavior of the charge population as a function of traveled pathlength.

Deep Minimum and a Vortex for Positronium Formation in Low-Energy Positron-Helium Collisions
We find a zero in the positronium formation scattering amplitude and a deep minimum in the logarithm of the corresponding differential cross section for positron–helium collisions for an energy just above the positronium formation threshold ...

The proof of hypothesis regarding distortion of time and space using the nuclear fusion model
The study is dedicated to modern topic: the analysis of conditions that lead to distortion of the time and space coordinates which results from the general theory of relativity.

The second flavor of hydrogen atoms (SFHA) refers to the kind of hydrogen atoms that have only the states of the zero orbital angular momentum (the S-states), both in the discrete and continuous spectra. They were first discovered theoretically in one of

Charge-Exchange Byproduct Cold Protons in the Earth’s Magnetosphere
Owing to the spatial overlap of the ion plasma sheet (ring current) with the Earth’s neutral-hydrogen geocorona, there is a significant rate of occurrence of charge-exchange collisions in the dipolar portion of the Earth’s magnetosphere.

Classical Description of Resonant Charge Exchange Involving the Second Flavor of Hydrogen Atoms
We studied the consequences of the existence of the second flavor of hydrogen atoms (SFHA)—the existence proven by atomic experiments and evidenced by astrophysical observations—on the resonant charge exchange.

Direct observation of swap cooling in atom–ion collisions
Collisions with cold particles can dissipate a hot particle’s energy and therefore can be exploited as a cooling mechanism. Kinetics teach us that cooling a particle down by several orders of magnitude typically takes many elastic collisions as each one ...

Proton Equatorial Pitch Angle Distributions in Jupiter's Inner Magnetosphere
We use data from the plasma and energetic particle instruments on the Juno spacecraft, JADE and JEDI, to study the equatorial pitch angle distributions of energetic protons within Jupiter's inner magnetosphere during Juno's prime mission from 2016 to ...
