Discerning protein pools by selective staining with self‐labeling tags

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cell surface proteins have an intra‐ and extracellular pool. Combining genetic fusion to self‐labeling tags that can be addressed with small molecule fluorophores allows separating these pools. We highlight recent developments and techniques for state‐of‐the‐art interrogation of cell surface proteins in the complex tissue setting.

Charge Exchange Cross Sections for Noble Gas Ions and N2 between 0.2 and 5.0 keV

open access: yesAtoms, 2019
Charge transfer of an electron from a neutral atom to an ion is a fundamental interaction that plays a dominant role in the energy balance of atmospheric and astrophysical plasmas.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Tailoring of ion species composition in complex plasmas with charge exchange collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A generic approach towards tailoring of ion species composition in reactive plasmas used for nanofabrication of various functional nanofilms and nanoassemblies, based on a simplified model of a parallel-plate rf discharge, is proposed. The model includes

Charge exchange spectroscopy using spatial heterodyne spectrometer in the large helical device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
0000-0002-0543-6925In this study, the use of a spatial heterodyne spectrometer (SHS) to measure the toroidal flow velocity (Vf ) and the ion temperature (TC6+) of the C6+ impurity ion by charge exchange spectroscopy was explored.

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Charge Exchange Recombination Spectroscopy of Li III Ions for Fusion Plasma Diagnostics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A detailed calculation is presented of the line emission of Li^{2+} ions in a plasma where a neutral hydrogen beam is injected. A collisional-radiative model including charge exchange process has been developed, in which nl subshell resolved populations ...

How Is Ethical Leadership Linked to Subordinate Taking Charge? A Moderated Mediation Model of Social Exchange and Power Distance

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
Extant literature has suggested that leadership styles have a significant impact on subordinate taking charge. However, the effect of ethical leadership on subordinate taking charge is still insufficiently explored.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Fast Charge Exchange Spectroscopy Using a Fabry-Perot Spectrometer in the JIPP TII-U Tokamak [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
A new charge exchange spectroscopic technique using a Fabry-Perot spectrometer has been developed to increase the photon flux at the detector and improve the time resolution of ion temperature and plasma rotation velocity measurements.
