Spatial correlations in nonequilibrium reaction-diffusion problems by the Gillespie algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present a study of the spatial correlation functions of a one-dimensional reaction-diffusion system in both equilibrium and out of equilibrium. For the numerical simulations we have employed the Gillespie algorithm dividing the system in cells to ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Phase Equilibria for Quaternary Mixtures in Esterification Reaction Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper examines the effect of the simultaneous chemical and phase equilibrium on the conceptual design of reactive distillation processes. Esterification of acetic acid with methanol, ethanol and butanol are examined.

Chemical Equilibration in Hadronic Collisions

open access: yes, 2018
We study chemical equilibration in out-of-equilibrium Quark-Gluon Plasma using the first principles method of QCD effective kinetic theory, accurate at weak coupling.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Evaluation of Chemical Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Properties for LOX/LH2 Reaction Schemes

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2015
Nine chemical reaction models for equilibrium schemes and six chemical models for non-equilibrium ones are studied, considering different conditions found in real liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen rocket engines.

The chemical equilibration volume: measuring the degree of thermalization

open access: yes, 2003
We address the issue of the degree of equilibrium achieved in a high energy heavy-ion collision. Specifically, we explore the consequences of incomplete strangeness chemical equilibrium.
