Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Chemical equilibrium study in nucleus-nucleus collisions at relativistic energies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a detailed study of chemical freeze-out in nucleus-nucleus collisions at beam energies of 11.6, 30, 40, 80 and 158A GeV. By analyzing hadronic multiplicities within the statistical hadronization approach, we have studied the strangeness ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Effect of Delignification Process on Cellulose, Hemicellulose, and Lignin Content on Liquid Glucose Production from a Mixture of Corn Cobs (Zea mays) and Sugar Cane Bagasse (Saccharum officinarum) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
. Dependence on the use of fossil energy is continuously increasing every year. This is very risky, considering the dwindling availability of fossils in nature.

Evaluation of Chemical Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Properties for LOX/LH2 Reaction Schemes

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2015
Nine chemical reaction models for equilibrium schemes and six chemical models for non-equilibrium ones are studied, considering different conditions found in real liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen rocket engines.

STUDENTS’ CHEMICAL LITERACY PROFILE ON CHEMICAL EQUILIBRIUM MATERIAL: A CASE OF CORAL REEFS TOPIC

open access: yesJurnal Eduscience
Nowadays, chemical literacy is something important to discuss, including the benefits of chemical literacy itself. It can be the main purpose for teachers, experts, and curriculum policymakers.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
