Using hydrocyclone fractionation to improve chemical pulp quality

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2021
Production of chemical pulp is accompanied by various impurities in addition to the cellulose fibres produced. The impurities are mainly due to lignin fragments and wood resin components in the wood.

THE CHEMICAL FRACTIONATION OF LYMPHATIC ORGANS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1956
A method for chemically fractionating lymphatic organs has been described. The method has been shown to be applicable to bovine palatine tonsils, sheep palatine tonsils, and bovine thymus. Approximately 50 per cent of the dry weight of tonsils and about 30 per cent of thymus has been found to be soluble in the 0.15 M NaCl extract.

Assessment of content and chemical forms of arsenic, copper, lead, and chromium in sewage sludge compost as affected by various bulking agents

open access: yesMain Group Metal Chemistry, 2020
In current study, the effect of various organic substances as bulking agents (BAs) including wheat straw, pistachio hull wastes, and tree leaves at different levels (10, 25, 45% v/v) were investigated on total concentration and chemical forms of Cu, Pb ...

Response of tungsten (W) solubility and chemical fractionation to changes in soil pH and soil aging.

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2020
A thorough understanding of the geochemical behavior of W in soils is crucial for environmental risk assessment. Soil pH is known as master variable of element solubility and bioavailability in soils.

Nitrogen Fractionation in External Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In star forming regions in our own Galaxy, the 14N/15N ratio is found to vary from $\sim$ 100 in meteorites, comets and protoplanetary disks up to $\sim$ 1000 in pre-stellar and star forming cores, while in external galaxies the very few single-dish ...

Thermal-chemical Fractionation of Lignocellulosic Biomass

open access: yesEUBCE 2019 Conference Proceedings, 2019
Biomass is a valuable, sustainable feedstock for the production of chemicals and materials, and will play an important role in the transition towards a Sustainable Process Industry. Bio-based products – products wholly or partly derived from materials of biological origin – can make the society more sustainable and lower its dependence on fossil fuels.
