Synthesis gas generation by chemical-looping reforming in a continuously operating laboratory reactor [PDF]
Chemical-looping reforming is a technology that can be used for partial oxidation and steam reforming of hydrocarbon fuels. This paper describes continuous chemical-looping reforming of natural gas in a laboratory reactor consisting of two interconnected

Redox kinetics of CaMg0.1Ti0.125Mn0.775O2.9− for Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU) [PDF]
The objective of this study was to establish the kinetic of reactions involved in redox cycles of an oxygen carrier material based on a perovskite type structure with the formula CaMg0.1Ti0.125Mn0.775O2.9−δ. The oxygen transport capacity and reactivity of this material during reduction with gaseous fuels (CH4, H2 and CO) and the subsequent oxidation ...

Near 100% CO selectivity in nanoscaled iron-based oxygen carriers for chemical looping methane partial oxidation [PDF]
Chemical looping methane partial oxidation provides an energy and cost effective route for methane utilization. However, there is considerable CO2 co-production in current chemical looping systems, rendering a decreased productivity in value-added fuels ...

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

In situ studies of materials for high temperature CO2 capture and storage. [PDF]
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) offers a possible solution to curb the CO2 emissions from stationary sources in the coming decades, considering the delays in shifting energy generation to carbon neutral sources such as wind, solar and biomass.

Chemical-looping combustion — a thermodynamic study
The poor performance of internal combustion (IC) engines can be attributed to the departure from equilibrium in the combustion process. This departure is expressed numerically, as the difference between the working fluid's temperature and an ideal ‘combustion temperature’, calculated using a simple expression.

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.
