The physical and chemical properties of eumelanin

Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research, 2006
SummaryIn this article, we review the current state of knowledge concerning the physical and chemical properties of the eumelanin pigment. We examine properties related to its photoprotective functionality, and draw the crucial link between fundamental molecular structure and observable macroscopic behaviour.

Chemical and Pharmacological Properties of Diflunisal

Pharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, 1983
Diflunisal, 5‐(2′,4′‐difluorophenyl) salicylic acid, was discovered as a potent antiinflammatory analgesic agent after an extensive investigation of more than 500 salicylic acid analogs. The addition of a difluorophenyl substituent at the C5 position of salicylic acid yielded a new molecule with much improved lipophilicity, a longer duration of action,

Chemically Modified Polysulfones and Their Properties

Polymer Science, Series D, 2021
The review of works including works by the authors, concerning aromatic polysulfones chemically-modified on the main macrochain is presented. Methods of synthesis of copolymers and block-copolymers with increased heat-resistance by the use of new original compounds are described.

The chemical and environmental property space of REACH chemicals

Chemosphere, 2012
The European regulation on chemicals, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), came into force on 1 June 2007. With pre-registration complete in 2008, data for these substances may provide an overview of the expected chemical space and its characteristics. In this paper, using various in silico computation tools, we

Chemical properties of cotton dust

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1976
Byssinosis, a respiratory disease, is caused by dust in cotton textile mills. The heterogeneous, complex dust varies in composition and activity in different "cotton-related" processing operations. Information concerning the constitution of "cotton dust" is reviewed. Relevance of a single dust standard for all cotton operations is discussed.
