Glauber, Thurneisser e outros. Tecnologia química e química fina, conceitos não tão novos assim
Chemical Technology and Fine Chemicals, in the sense we understand them, go back not to Leblanc's soda production process, as many historians of Science and chemists suggest, but to the XVIIth Century, with the "technological" activities of Glauber and ...

Solidification/stabilisation of soil contaminated with metal: a review [PDF]
Solidification/stabilisation (S/S) is generically defined as a chemical and physical alteration technique of reducing the mobility as well as solubility of contaminants in wastes in order to convert them into chemically inert form.

Cells must clear mislocalized or faulty proteins from membranes to survive. The AAA+ ATPase Msp1 performs this task, but dissecting how its six subunits work together is challenging. We engineered linked dimers with varied numbers of functional subunits to reveal how Msp1 subunits cooperate and use energy to extract proteins from the lipid bilayer ...

High-speed Civil Transport Aircraft Emissions [PDF]
Estimates are given for the emissions from a proposed high speed civil transport (HSCT). This advanced technology supersonic aircraft would fly in the lower stratosphere at a speed of roughly Mach 1.6 to 3.2 (470 to 950 m/sec or 920 to 1850 knots ...

CCT4 promotes tunneling nanotube formation
Tunneling nanotubes (TNTs) are membranous tunnel‐like structures that transport molecules and organelles between cells. They vary in thickness, and thick nanotubes often contain microtubules in addition to actin fibers. We found that cells expressing monomeric CCT4 generate many thick TNTs with tubulin.
