Complications of Hepatic Chemoembolization [PDF]

open access: yesSeminars in Interventional Radiology, 2006
Transarterial hepatic chemoembolization continues to evolve as an integral therapy for unresectable primary and secondary liver tumors. Despite relatively low morbidity, major complications may be seen. This article provides an overview of the spectrum of vascular and nonvascular complications related to this therapy.

Chemoembolization and Radioembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2013
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) continues to represent a major worldwide problem. Although treatments such as resection, transplantation, and ablation may provide a chance for a cure, these options are often precluded because of advanced disease presentation. Palliative treatments include transarterial embolization and systemic therapies.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Critical Points for the Production of Polymeric Microspheres Used in X-Ray Surgery

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2020
Introduction. Saturated polymer microspheres represent one of the leading developments in the field of chemoembolization. Due to the complicated multi-stage production in the Russian market, mainly foreign manufacturers of these products are represented,

Arterial chemoembolization with cisplatin microcapsules [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1986
Cisplatin (CDDP) was microcapsulated with ethylcellulose. Sustained release of CDDP from the microcapsule, particularly non-protein-bound CDDP, which should have antitumour activity, was demonstrated by an in vitro test. Using a bioassay, it was proven that the biological activity of CDDP was not affected by the microencapsulation process. When CDDP-mc

Hydrogel Microtube Drug Carrier for Catheter‐Based Intravascular Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes hydrogel microtube carriers composed of barium alginate gel, enabling long‐term vascular retention without interrupting blood flow. Intravascular treatments have long been attracting attention for therapeutic efficacy, yet practical delivery methods remained unestablished.

3D‐Nanoprinted Fluidically Steerable Soft Robotic Microcatheters

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a ∼3‐French (1 mm‐in‐diameter) soft robotic microcatheter fabricated by means of two‐photon direct laser writing. The 3D‐printed microcatheter enables remote, on‐demand steering via microfluidic actuation for guidewire‐free navigation of vascular networks as well as microcatheter‐mediated delivery of fluidic payloads to target ...

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.

THE BASICS OF CHEMOEMBOLIZATION

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Medicine, 2017
Chemoembolization has advantages over systemic chemotherapy as increase in drug concentration, time of exposition and decrease in systemic adverse effects.
