Factors involved in ‘Chemotactism’ of Leucocytes in vitro

Nature, 1951
The polymorphonuclear leucocytes isolated from blood or an inflammatory exudate are able to respond to chemotactic stimuli (‘tactism’). This property is readily demonstrated by the following technique1. A suspension of starch granules, isolated from potatoes, is spread on microscope slides and the films fixed by drying.

Lymphangiogenic and Chemotactic Factors in Conjunctival Melanoma

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2016
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate expression patterns of known lymphangiogenic growth factors and chemokines in conjunctival melanoma, and to describe patterns of lymphatic vessel growth in these tumors. Methods: This was a retrospective chart review comprising 5 ...

Bronchial asthma and the neutrophil chemotactic factor

Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 1982
Neutrophil chemotactic factor (NCF) is a slight acidic macromolecule which is released into the circulation of asthmatic individuals following antigen provocation and an exercise task. It also appears in late asthmatic reactions with a time course of appearance which precedes the second fall in FEV1.

Neutrophil Chemotactic Factors in Bacterial Pneumonia

Chest, 1989
The influx of neutrophils into the lung is a prominent feature in patients with bacterial pneumonia. Since neutrophils migrate in response to chemotactic factors, chemotactic activity was evaluated in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid obtained from 12 patients with bacterial pneumonia and ten normal control subjects.

On the Biological Role of Lipid Chemotactic Factors

1983
Our experimental data of the past seven years cover the generation of a non-preformed lipid-mediator which primarily assayed with guinea pig eosinophils proved to be eosinophil chemotactic. The analysis of the various stimuli led in 1978 to the concept of the phospholipase-arachidonic sequence as a common link for membrane activation ...

Complement receptor enhancement by chemotactic factors

Molecular Immunology, 1982
Abstract Chemotactic factors, of diverse origin, share the property of enhancing the expression of C3b receptors on human phagocytic cells. They also amplify complement-dependent initiation of the respiratory burst as well as accelerating complement-dependent killing of certain parasites.
