Foxp1 and lhx1 coordinate motor neuron migration with axon trajectory choice by gating Reelin signalling. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Topographic neuronal maps arise as a consequence of axon trajectory choice correlated with the localisation of neuronal soma, but the identity of the pathways coordinating these processes is unknown.

The occipital lateral plate mesoderm is a novel source for vertebrate neck musculature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In vertebrates, body musculature originates from somites, whereas head muscles originate from the cranial mesoderm. Neck muscles are located in the transition between these regions.

Adaptation of infectious bronchitis virus in primary cells of the chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, 2013
The susceptibility of the primary chick embryo chorioallontoic membrane cells to infectious bronchitis virus was evaluated after twenty consecutive passages in chick embryo chorioallontoic membrane cells.

The Chick Embryo Chorioallantoic Membrane as an in vivo Model to Study Metastasis

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2016
Metastasis is a complex process that includes several steps: neoplastic progression, angiogenesis, cell migration and invasion, intravasation into nearby blood vessels, survival in the circulatory system, extravasation followed by homing into distant ...

NIBV Induces Incomplete Autophagy via AMPK‐TFEB, Causing Kidney Injury in Chicks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that NIBV can inhibit the nuclear translocation of TFEB by suppressing the expression of AMPK, leading to the blockade of autophagolysosomal functions, in turn increasing NIBV replication and triggering severe kidney injury in chicks.

A detailed description of an economical setup for electroporation of chick embryos in ovo

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2013
One of the challenges of the postgenomic era is characterizing the function and regulation of specific genes. For various reasons, the early chick embryo can easily be adopted as an in vivo assay of gene function and regulation.

Influence of In Ovo Leptin Injection into Yolk Sac on Embryo Development, Blood Biochemical Parameters and Lipid Metabolism of Broiler Chicks during Early Post-Hatching Period

open access: yesYüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tarim Bilimleri Dergisi, 2022
The study aimed to investigate the effect of in ovo (IO) leptin injection on yolk sac leptin concentration, embryo development, blood lipid metabolism, and biochemical parameters of broiler chicks during the early post-hatching period. Hatching eggs were

The 9th International RASopathies Symposium

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The RASopathies are a group of congenital disorders with overlapping clinical manifestations that are caused by pathogenic germline or early somatic variants that result in the hyperactivation of the RAS/mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway.

The role of embryo movement in the development of the furcula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The pectoral girdle is a complex structure which varies in its morphology between species. A major component in birds is the furcula, which can be considered equivalent to a fusion of the paired clavicles found in many mammals, and the single ...

A perspective from the Mesozoic: Evolutionary changes of the mammalian skull and their influence on feeding efficiency and high‐frequency hearing

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The complex evolutionary history behind modern mammalian chewing performance and hearing function is a result of several changes in the entire skeletomuscular system of the skull and lower jaw. Lately, exciting multifunctional 3D analytical methods and kinematic simulations of feeding functions in both modern and fossil mammals and their ...
