Ocular Manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus Infection in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eyes are essential sensory organs needed by teleost Atlantic salmon for high visual acuity and survival in both the wild and in aquaculture settings. In this work, we assessed the ocular manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) infection in Atlantic salmon by a cohabitation‐mediated infection assay and histological and ...

Rapid identification of chicken anemia virus in Nigerian backyard chickens by polymerase chain reaction combined with restriction endonuclease analysis

open access: yes, 2010
Chicken infectious anemia (CIA) has not been routinely diagnosed in other avian species apart from commercial chickens. A sensitive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) combined with restrictionendonuclease (RE) analysis was used for the detection and ...

Safety and tolerability of amustaline/glutathione pathogen‐reduced red blood cells in neonatal rats

open access: yesTransfusion, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Amustaline (S‐303)/glutathione (GSH) pathogen‐reduced red blood cells (PR‐RBCs) are in development for all adult and pediatric RBC transfusion indications, including neonates and infants. A neonatal rat model evaluated the safety and tolerability of PR‐RBCs during growth and maturation. Study Design and Methods Repeated transfusions

Australian porcine circoviruses

open access: yes, 2006
Two types of porcine circovirus (PCV) exist, referred to as PCV1 and PCV2. PCV2 has been associated with disease syndromes in pigs, including that designated postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), which has been identified in all regions of ...

Survey of primultaneous Contamination with CIAV and infection with AI and ND in broiler chicken of Chaharmahal - va - Bakhtiari provence [PDF]

open access: yesĀsīb/shināsī-i Darmāngāhī-i Dāmpizishkī, 2013
The agent of chicken infectious anemia (CIA) belongs to Circoviridae. CIA can cause severe anemia, immunosuppression and high sensitivity to bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal pathogens. The aim of this study was to investigate simultaneous infection

Vectors and Vector‐Borne Diseases: Biology, Epidemiology and Integrated Control Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 7, Page 990-1015, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Vector‐Borne Diseases (VBDs), transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and sandflies, represent a significant threat to global health. These diseases can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and helminths.

Ocular Manifestations of Canine Parvovirus in Juvenile Dogs: Tear Production, Intraocular Pressure, Fundoscopic Findings, and Ultrasonographic Measurements

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Naturally acquired canine parvovirus infection in juvenile dogs was associated with reduced tear production, ocular hypotony, corneal epithelial defects, and fundoscopic abnormalities, suggesting ocular surface and posterior segment involvement and supporting ophthalmic screening during clinical evaluation.
