Latent profiles of parents’ family-of-origin invalidation experiences: associations with emotion coping and children’s prosocial behavior

open access: yesHumanities & Social Sciences Communications
The development of prosocial behavior, a vital aspect of children’s socialization and future mental health, remains understudied in its relationship to parents’ family-of-origin experiences. The goal of the present study is to examine how parents’ family-

Ethnic Differences in the Association Between SOD2 rs4880 and Hepatotoxicity in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Report From the REDIAL Consortium

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele

Atypical Presentation of Chronic Granulomatous Disease in a Child

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti - Classe di Scienze Medico-Biologiche, 2017
Chronic granulomatous disease is a rare, inherited immunodeficiency caused by deletions or mutations in genes that encode subunits of the NADPH oxidase complex. The pattern of chronic granulomatous disease inheritance can be X-linked (about 70% of cases)

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
