Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Requerimento em frio, dinâmica e heterogeneidade de dormência de gemas em ramos de Salix x rubens cultivado em Lages, SC

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2006
The dormancy intensity and chilling requirement of willow (Salix x rubens Shrank) were investigated in excised single node shoots. Observations were made from branches collected in Lages, Santa Catarina State, Brazil, at 21 days interval from March ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Evaluation of low-chill peach and nectarine varieties at alstonville, new south wales, Australia

open access: yes, 1996
Low-chill, subtropical peaches, {Prumis persica [L] Batsch) that originated in South China, have been grown in Australia for over 100 years. These seedlings were thought to have been brought to Australia by Chinese immigrants during the gold rush era ...

Estimation of Winter Chill Availability for Cherries in the Northern Area of Mendoza Province, Argentina

open access: yes, 2010
Durante el reposo invernal los frutales de clima templado deben estar expuestos a bajas temperaturas para satisfacer sus necesidades de frío. La disponibilidad de frío varía entre regiones y entre años, y puede ser insuficiente para los cerezos.

Chilling and heat requirements of almond cultivars for flowering

open access: yesEnvironmental and Experimental Botany, 2003
Chilling and heat requirements for breaking dormancy and flowering were studied in ten almond cultivars which spanned the range of flowering times in this species. The cultivars showed a wide range of chilling requirements for flowering (chill units, CU), i.e. Achaak (266), Desmayo Largueta (309), Ramillete (326), S2332 (417), Marcona (435), Marta (478)

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
