In vitro approach to the study of chronic exposure to low doses of x-rays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
El presente trabajo fue realizado con el fin de estudiar el efecto de dosis bajas y repetidas de radiación sobre dos líneas celulares de la misma especie. Se desarrolló un modelo in vitro para evitar la influencia de los factores de confusión que afectan

Chinese Hamster Ovary Cell Mutants Defective in Glycosaminoglycan Assembly and Glucuronosyltransferase I*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1999
The proteoglycans of animal cells typically contain one or more heparan sulfate or chondroitin sulfate chains. These glycosaminoglycans assemble on a tetrasaccharide primer, -GlcAβ1,3Galβ1,3Galβ1,4Xylβ-O-, attached to specific serine residues in the core

Dynamic Binder Exchange Improves Protein Labeling Efficiency in DNA‐PAINT up to 15‐Fold

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Dynamic Binder Exchange (DyBE) leverages transient binder–target interactions to enhance labeling efficiency by up to 15‐fold in super‐resolution microscopy. DyBE maps nanoscale receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) assemblies, including HER2 homodimers and EGFR–HER2 heterodimers, advancing single‐protein spatial proteomics.

Caspase-7 deficiency in Chinese hamster ovary cells reduces cell proliferation and viability

open access: yesBiological Research, 2020
Background Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are the most commonly used mammalian host cell in the commercial-scale production of biopharmaceutical proteins. Modification of genes involved in apoptosis may improve the productivity of CHO cells. Executive

Transient Transfection of Rolling‐Circle Amplified DNA in Biomanufacturing‐Relevant Mammalian Cell Lines: A Comparison of Transfection Conditions for Optimal Protein Expression

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rolling‐circle amplification (RCA) is a completely synthetic and rapid mechanism for scaling‐up bulk DNA that eliminates requirements for large‐scale bacterial fermentation. Several reports have described the surprising ability of large unprocessed (hyperbranched) rolling circle‐amplified DNA (RCA DNA) to effectively transfect cultured cells ...

Model-based analysis of N-glycosylation in Chinese hamster ovary cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
The Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell is the gold standard for manufacturing of glycosylated recombinant proteins for production of biotherapeutics. The similarity of its glycosylation patterns to the human versions enable the products of this cell line ...

Expression of Kv1.1 Delayed Rectifier Potassium Channels in Lec Mutant Chinese Hamster Ovary Cell Lines Reveals a Role for Sialidation in Channel Function*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1996
Kv1.1 potassium (K+) channels contain significant amounts of negatively charged sialic acids. To examine the role of sialidation in K+ channel function, Chinese hamster ovary cell lines deficient in glycosylation (Lec mutants) were transfected with rat ...

Lab‐Scale Continuous Biomanufacturing: A Tool for Process Development With Adaptive Strategies for Capture and Virus Inactivation

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the continuous lab‐scale process. ABSTRACT Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are nowadays fundamental in treating a wide range of severe diseases, including cancer, infections, or autoimmune disorders. Due to their high specificity, potent activity, and fewer side effects compared to small molecular drugs, the market for mAbs is ...
