Hsp27 anti-sense oligonucleotides sensitize the microtubular cytoskeleton of Chinese hamster ovary cells grown at low pH to 42 degrees C-induced reorganization [PDF]
Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells maintained in vitro at pH 6.7 were used to model cells in the acidic environment of tumours. CHO cells grown at pH 6.7 develop thermotolerance during 42 degrees C heating at pH 6.7 and their cytoskeletal systems are ...

Cancer‐specific antihuman podoplanin antibody chLpMab‐2f exerted antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against pleural mesothelioma (PM) cell lines. Additionally, chLpMab‐2f inhibited tumor progression in mice with subcutaneously and intrathoracically transplanted human PM cells.

Functional characterization of oligopeptide transporter 1 of dairy cows
Background It is well known that peptides play a vital role in the nutrition and health of dairy cows. Bovine oligopeptide transporter 1 (bPepT1) is involved in the peptide transport process in the gastrointestinal tracts of dairy cows.

Non-invasive imaging of hypoxia in tissue engineering [PDF]
In tissue engineering, cells are grown on biomaterials in vitro and subsequently implanted. A critical parameter in effective proliferation and differentiation is the availability of nutrients. Few tools are currently available to monitor the nutritional

Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

ABSTRACT Introduction Accurate monitoring of nonacog beta pegol (N9‐GP) is essential to ensure appropriate treatment and to avoid under‐ or overdosing, which may result in clinical complications. The product's extended half‐life, achieved through molecular modification, poses challenges for activity measurement, particularly when using a one‐stage ...

The polarized expression of Na+,K+-ATPase in epithelia depends on the association between beta-subunits located in neighboring cells [PDF]
The polarized distribution of Na+,K+-ATPase plays a paramount physiological role, because either directly or through coupling with co- and countertransporters, it is responsible for the net movement of, for example, glucose, amino acids, Ca2+, K+, Cl ...

Mathematical model of the zebrafish ventricular cardiomyocyte action potential and calcium transient
Abstract figure legend This study presents the development and validation of the first biophysically detailed computational model of the zebrafish ventricular action potential (AP). The model is based on a human cardiomyocyte framework and reparameterized using published and newly generated patch‐clamp recordings of zebrafish ionic currents.
