ABSTRACT Moringa oleifera Lam. seeds contain WSMoL, a lectin previously studied for toxicity and pharmacological effects. In this study, we investigated WSMoL (10, 25, or 50 mg/kg i.p.) for acute and 14‐day repeated‐dose toxicity, as well as genotoxicity, in Swiss mice.

A System Analysis and Design For Selecting Chitin and Chitosan Industry Location By Using Comparative Performance Index Method [PDF]
The chitin and chitosan industry development is motivated by its wide application of chitin and chitosan as biopolymer and by its potential raw material from crustacean shell which is known as waste in shrimp processing industry, to help reducing the ...

ABSTRACT Aedes aegypti, a critical vector for tropical diseases, poses significant challenges for studying its embryogenesis due to difficulties in removing its rigid chorion and achieving effective fixation for in situ hybridization. Here, we present novel methodologies for fixation, dechorionation, DAPI staining, and in situ hybridization, enabling ...

Alginate‐HPC composite fibers spun via CaCl2‐induced gelation process. Fiber diameter ranges from 100 to 200 μm after air drying. Higher alginate boosts water absorption in dried fibers. HPC selectively diffuses out when fibers are soaked in water. Crosslinking with hexamethylene diisocyanate improves mechanical strength.

The digestion of chitin by callitrichids
Studies of wild callitrichids reveal limited data about their complex diets. As insectivorous primates it is likely that they can digest chitin. Using the common marmoset, Callithrix jacchus, as a model, this study assessed chitin digestibility and ...

This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.
