A cyclophilin A inducible expressed in gonad of zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri

Molecular Biology Reports, 2008
Cyclophilin A (CypA), a receptor for the immunosuppressive agent cyclosporin A (CsA), is a cis-trans peptidyl-prolyl isomerase (PPIase) which accelerates the cis-trans isomerization of prolyl-peptide bonds, interacts with a variety of proteins and therefore regulates their activities. One CypA (designated CfCypA) cDNA was cloned from Chlamys farreri by

An opioid growth factor receptor (OGFR) for [Met5]-enkephalin in Chlamys farreri

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2013
Opioid growth factor receptor (OGFR) is a receptor for [Met(5)]-enkephalin and plays important roles in the regulation of cell growth and embryonic development. In the present study, a cDNA of 2381 bp for the scallop Chlamys farreri OGFR (designated as CfOGFR) was identified by rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) approach and expression sequence ...

Hyperaccumulation of cadmium by scallop Chlamys farreri revealed by comparative transcriptome analysis

BioMetals, 2020
Cadmium (Cd) is a hazardous environmental contaminant, which has a serious effect on the ecosystem, food safety and human health. Scallop could accumulate high concentration of Cd from the environment and has been regarded as a Cd hyper-accumulator.

[Physio-ecological characteristics of scallop Chlamys farreri].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2003
The physiological responses of scallop Chlamys farreri to changing environmental conditions were researched in semi-field water-flowing system, based on a recently developed biodeposition method. There was no significant relationship between clearance rate and stocking density or food concentration.

The mechanism of apoptosis of Chlamys farreri hemocytes under benzopyrene stress in vitro

Science of The Total Environment, 2021
Hemocytes are critical to the immune defense system of bivalves, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can mediate the immunity of bivalves by affecting the apoptosis of hemocytes. However, the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Chlamys farreri, as an important economic bivalve, was selected as the research subject for this experimentation ...

The arginine kinase in Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri is involved in immunomodulation

Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2012
Arginine kinase (AK) catalyzes the reversible phosphorylation of l-arginine to form phosphoarginine, and plays a critical role in energy metabolism in invertebrates. In the present study, a scallop AK gene was identified from Chlamys farreri with an open reading frame (ORF) of 1101bp encoding for a protein of 366 amino acids (designed as CfAK).

Characterization of an ETS transcription factor in the sea scallop Chlamys farreri

Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2009
We have cloned and characterized a cDNA encoding a putative ETS transcription factor, designated Cf-ets. The Cf-ets encodes a 406 amino acid protein containing a conserved ETS domain and a Pointed domain. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Cf-ets belongs to the ESE group of ETS transcription factor family.

Cloning and mineralization-related functions of the calponin gene in Chlamys farreri

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2016
Calponin is a widely distributed protein which is associated with the bio-mineralization process in vertebrates. Recently, a new type of calponin has been found in shellfish; the present study aimed to determine if this gene in shellfish functions in bio-mineralization, one of the most important processes in a mollusk's growth. We chose Chlamys farreri,

A Population Genetic Analysis of Continuously Selected Chlamys farreri Populations

Journal of Ocean University of China, 2018
This study applied an optimized one-step 2b-RAD library construction strategy and performed simplified genome sequencing of 539 individuals from three continuously selected Chlamys farreri populations. SNP screening was performed using RAD typing software and population genetic parameters for the continuously selected populations from three generations

The immunomodulation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subunits in Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2015
Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), the best-studied ionotropic neuron receptor protein, is a key player in neuronal communication, and it has been reported to play an important role in immunomodulation of vertebrates. Although nAChRs have also been identified in most invertebrates, the knowledge about their immunomodulation is still limited.
