Mesoscopic simulation of chloride ions diffusion in frost-damaged concrete

International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control, 2009
Cracking and the porosity increase of concrete due to freeze-thaw cycling can form interconnecting flow channels for ingress of aggressive agents dissolved in water-like chloride and sulphate ions. This process will accelerate the deterioration of concrete structures.

Mechanism of diffusion and ion transport of chloride ions on hydrous ceric oxide

Solid State Ionics, 1991
Abstract The rate of the isotopic exchange of chloride ions between hydrous ceria as ion exchanger in the Cl−-form and aqueous solutions was determined radiometrically. The conditions are set to favour the particle diffusion mechanism only, this is confirmed by the Bt versus t plots.

Measurements of tracer diffusion coefficients of lithium ions, chloride ions and water in aqueous lithium chloride solutions

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1987
Tracer diffusion coefficients of lithium ions, chloride ions and water in aqueous lithium chloride solutions over a wide range of concentrations at 298.2 K have been determined by means of the diaphragm-cell method using 6Li, 36Cl and 2H as tracers.
