Identification of a Widespread Palmitoylethanolamide Contamination in Standard Laboratory Glassware. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Fatty acid ethanolamides (FAEs) are a family of lipid mediators that participate in a host of biological functions. Procedures for the quantitative analysis of FAEs include organic solvent extraction from biological matrices (e.g., blood ...

The role of intermolecular coupling in the photophysics of disordered organic semiconductors: Aggregate emission in regioregular polythiophene

open access: yes, 2007
We address the role of excitonic coulping on the nature of photoexcitations in the conjugated polymer regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene). By means of temperature-dependent absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy, we show that optical emission is ...

96-well CTAB-chloroform DNA extraction v1

open access: yes, 2020
This is a 96-well version of the classic CTAB-chloroform plant DNA extraction (Doyle & Doyle 1987), developed by John Willis and Lila Fishman in ~2000 and since optimized by multiple lab groups working on Mimulus (monkeyflowers). We have also used it successfully for downstream applications in other plant taxa, including Asclepias, Larix ...

Common Signatures of Altered Gene Regulation and Invasiveness of Different Breast Cancer Cell Lines after Matrix Interface Crossing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Interface transmigration reprograms triple‐negative breast cancer cells, triggering a shared switch toward more aggressive and invasive phenotypes. Using a collagen I interface model, this study identifies shared transcriptional changes involving proliferation, chromatin remodeling, and DNA repair pathways.

KINETICS OF CHLOROFORM EXTRACTION OF TAR SAND

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, 1997
The kinetics of chloroform extraction from a Jordan tar sand have been studied. The activation energy of the extraction has been evaluated; for 125–180 μm tar sand it is 6⋅53 kJ mol−1 in the initial stage of extraction and 12⋅18 kJ mol−1 in the later stages, for 355–500 μm 1⋅0 kJ mol−1 and 10⋅61 kJ mol−1, respectively.

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

An efficient protocol to perform genetic traceability of tissue and foods from Geoffroea decorticans

open access: yes, 2019
The quality of a DNA isolation method depends, among others, on the target tissue and the metabolites therein. Geoffroea decorticans Burkart (chanar) is a species that has nutritional and pharmacological potential.
