Spatial and Temporal Visualization of Polymorphic Transformations in Pharmaceutical Tablets. [PDF]
X‐ray Diffraction Computed Tomography (XRD‐CT) has been used to reveal pressure‐induced phase transformations in pharmaceutical tablets of glycolide as a function of compaction pressure. Temporal analysis of the tablets, and subsequent identification using electron diffraction, revealed a hydrolysis reaction occurred on storage of the tablets.

Olanzapine induced hyponatremia and rhabdomyolysis. [PDF]
Abstract Rapid‐onset hyponatremia and rhabdomyolysis are rare, but potential, complications of olanzapine treatment. Hyponatremia, secondary to atypical antipsychotic use, has been reported in many case reports and is thought to be associated with an inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion syndrome.

Complex chemical signals dictate Ah receptor activation through the gut–lung axis
The Ah receptor (AHR) is a sensor for a variety of chemicals found in the diet and produced within the host. Many of these potent AHR ligands are also cytochrome P450‐1A1 (CYP1A1) substrates and the presence of other dietary CYP1A1 substrates can enhance potent AHR ligand escape from the intestinal tract.

Chlorpropamide-alcohol flushing and plasma chlorpropamide concentrations in diabetic patients on maintenance chlorpropamide therapy [PDF]
Forty-three diabetic patients on maintenance chlorpropamide (100-750 mg daily) drank 0.2 ml/kg 90% ethanol after equilibration in a room controlled at 20 degrees C. Twenty-five patients had already noted marked alcohol flushing since starting chlorpropamide therapy (group A), while 13 had not observed this (group B).
