Zinc Finger Protein 202, genetic variation, and HDL cholesterol in the general population

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
Zinc Finger Protein 202 (ZNF202) is a transcriptional repressor that binds elements found predominantly in genes involved in HDL metabolism. We tested the following hypotheses: 1) frequencies of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and haplotypes in ...

Pengaruh Senam Poco-poco Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol High Density Lipoprotein Darah [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
: High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) is denser than other types of cholesterol. Blood HDL cholesterol protects the inner wall (endothelium) of blood vessels. Exercise such as Poco-poco dance can increase the HDL cholesterol level.

Trans-intestinal cholesterol efflux is not mediated through high density lipoprotein

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2012
Transintestinal cholesterol efflux (TICE) provides an attractive target to increase body cholesterol excretion. At present, the cholesterol donor responsible for direct delivery of plasma cholesterol to the intestine is unknown.

Lateral-Pressure Profiles in Cholesterol-DPPC Bilayers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
By means of atomistic molecular dynamics simulations, we study cholesterol-DPPC (dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine) bilayers of different composition, from pure DPPC bilayers to a 1:1 mixture of DPPC and cholesterol. The lateral-pressure profiles through the bilayers are computed and separated into contributions from the different components.

ApoA-I knockout mice: characterization of HDL metabolism in homozygotes and identification of a post-RNA mechanism of apoA-I up-regulation in heterozygotes

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1997
The major high density lipoprotein (HDL) apolipoprotein, apoA-I, was knocked out by gene targeting in ES cells to provide a model for the study of HDL metabolism and its relationship to plasma and tissue cholesterol metabolism.
