Effect of coinfusion of cholic acid and sulfated cholic acid on bile formation in rats

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1989
The effect of combined infusion of sulfated cholic acid and nonsulfated cholic acid on bile formation was investigated. The data show that the secretion of sulfated cholic acid is slower and does not share the same transport mechanism(s) as nonsulfated cholic acid.

Selective inclusion by cholic acid

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1993
Crystallographic, thermodynamic and molecular mechanics results show that cholic acid enclathrates nitrobenzene in preference to aniline.

Anodic electrochemical oxidation of cholic acid

Steroids, 2001
Regioselectivity in the anodic electrochemical oxidation of cholic acid with different anodes is described. The oxidation with PbO(2) anode affords the dehydrocholic acid in quantitative yield after 22 h. 3alpha,12alpha-Dihydroxy-7-oxo-5beta-cholan-24-oic acid (59%) and 3alpha-hydroxy-7,12-dioxo-5beta-cholan-24-oic acid (51%) are obtained stopping the ...

Radioimmunoassay of serum conjugated cholic acid

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1976
A radioimmunoassay for serum conjugated cholic acid is described using antiserum obtained five weeks after immunization of rabbits with cholic acid bovine serum albumin conjugate. Prior to the radioimmunoassay, extraction of bile acids was performed with Amberlite XAD-2. The displacement curve of glyco[3H]cholic acid was linear on a logit-log plot from

Cholic Acid Attenuates ER Stress-Induced Cell Death in Coxsackievirus-B3 Infection.

Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2018
Coxsackievirus Type B3 (CVB3) is an enterovirus that belongs to the Picornaviridae and causes various diseases such as myocarditis and hand-foot-mouth disease. However, an effective antiviral drug is still not developed.

Synthesis of the specific monosulfates of cholic acid

Steroids, 1975
The three isomeric cholic acid-monosulfates were synthetized and characterized. Cholic acid-3-sulfate was obtained by reacting cholic acid for 2 min with chlorosulfonic acid in pyridine and chromatography of the resulting bile salt mixture on Sephadex LH-20.

Electrosynthesis of dehydrocholic acid from cholic acid

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2000
Key words: cholic acid, electrosynthesis, graphite anodes, sodium chloride, surface reactions1. IntroductionDehydrocholic acid (DHCA) represents an importantaid in the dietary supplement industry because of itscholeretic activity; it is less toxic to the natural bile acids[1].

Effective Enhancement of Hypoglycemic Effect of Insulin by Liver-Targeted Nanoparticles Containing Cholic Acid-Modified Chitosan Derivative.

Molecular Pharmaceutics, 2016
Liver is responsible for the balance of blood glucose level. In this study, cholic acid and N-(2-hydroxy)-propyl-3-trimethylammonium chloride modified chitosan (HTCC-CA) was used as a liver-targeted vehicle for insulin delivery.

"Bitter-Sweet" Polymeric Micelles Formed by Block Copolymers from Glucosamine and Cholic Acid.

Biomacromolecules, 2017
Natural compounds glucosamine and cholic acid have been used to make acrylic monomers which are subsequently used to prepare amphiphilic block copolymers by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization.

Global optimization of cholic acid aggregates

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2014
In spite of recent investigations into the potential pharmaceutical importance of bile acids as drug carriers, the structure of bile acid aggregates is largely unknown. Here, we used global optimization techniques to find the lowest energy configurations for clusters composed between 2 and 10 cholate molecules, and evaluated the relative stabilities of
