Catabolism of chondroitin sulfate
AbstractChondroitin sulfate (CS) is a ubiquitous component of the cell surface and extracellular matrix of animal tissues. CS chains are covalently bound to a core protein to form a proteoglycan, which is involved in various biological events including cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.

Neuroactive Chondroitin Sulfate Glycomimetics [PDF]
We report the generation of chondroitin sulfate (CS) glycomimetics with tunable chemical and biological properties. Our approach greatly simplifies the synthesis of complex glycosaminoglycans, providing synthetically accessible, bioactive structures of programmable sulfation sequence.

Inhibition of Plasmodium falciparum growth in vitro and adhesion to chondroitin-4-sulfate by the heparan sulfate mimetic PI-88 and other sulfated oligosaccharides [PDF]
A panel of sulfated oligosaccharides was tested for antimalarial activity and inhibition of adhesion to the placental malaria receptor chondroitin-4-sulfate (CSA).

Enzymatic Synthesis of Homogenous Chondroitin Sulfate Oligosaccharides
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a sulfated polysaccharide that plays essential physiological roles. Here, we report to utilize an enzyme-based method to synthesize a library of CS oligosaccharides consisting of 15 different CS oligosaccharides.

Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.
