Abstract The skin, as the body's largest organ, plays essential roles in protection, immune regulation, and homeostasis. Skin trauma, especially chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers, poses significant clinical challenges. Traditional treatments, while often effective, can be costly and pose risks.

Nanomaterials for promoting axon regeneration after spinal cord injury: Mechanisms and prospects
The effects of clinical therapies for spinal cord injury (SCI) are greatly limited due to poor axon regeneration. This review systematically discusses the ability of nanomaterials (NMs) to treat SCI and the mechanism underlying their therapeutic effects. The properties of NMs that are conducive to axon regeneration after SCI are outlined.

Moderate repulsive effects of E-unit-containing chondroitin sulfate (CSE) on behavior of retinal growth cones [PDF]
Chondroitin sulfate (CS), the carbohydrate chain of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans, is involved in neuronal circuit formation during development. CS shows great structural diversity with combination of disaccharide units of different structure (A-, C-,

To engineer meniscus tissue, a combination of silk fibroin, decellularized meniscus extracellular matrix, and gelatin is 3D bioprinted with infrapatellar fat pad‐derived mesenchymal stem cells. Cell addition is found to affect the enzymatic crosslinking and the mechanical properties of the hydrogels, whose Young's modulus matches with human meniscus ...

A dECM‐based cryogel scaffold with sustained VEGF release is developed to promote angiogenesis in ischemic tissues. Fabricated from decellularized porcine urinary bladder matrix and heparin, the scaffold supports VEGF binding and prolonged release. The cryogel demonstrates enhanced angiogenic potential in vitro and in a murine hindlimb ischemia model ...
