SOX30 Governs Synaptonemal Complex Assembly and Homologous Recombination in Male Meiosis
The transcription factor SOX30 directly binds promoter regions of SYCE1 and SYCE2 to mediate their transcriptional activation, thereby enabling proper assembly of central elements within the synaptonemal complex. Structural destabilisation of the synaptonemal complex in Sox30 KK spermatocytes triggers synaptic discontinuity, impairs homologous ...

Cytogenetic diagnosis of Roberts SC phocomelia syndrome: First report from Kashmir
There are several syndromes in which specific mitotic chromosomal abnormalities can be seen, like premature centromere separation, premature (sister) chromatid separation, and somatic aneuploidies.

Duplication of vas genes is universally observed in aphids, and phylogenetic analysis indicates that this event predates the divergence of Aphididae and Phylloxeridae. Ap‐vas1 is germline‐specific, whereas Ap‐vas2–4 exhibit somatic expression, indicating functional divergence during aphid embryogenesis.

Vitamin B12 protects against DNA damage induced by hydrochlorothiazide
DNA damage induced by hydrochlorothiazide was previously reported in cultured human lymphocytes. In this study, we aimed to investigate the harmful effects of hydrochlorothiazide on DNA by measuring the spontaneous frequency of sister chromatid exchanges

‘Outside‐in’ expression of Fz6 across multiple layers of mouse embryo epidermis is connected to Fz6 asymmetry in the basal layer plane. Fz6 loss‐of‐function correlated with failure to: coordinate axial bias of cell long axis orientation across epidermal layers, switch axial cell long axis orientation during suprabasal layer development and establish ...

ABSTRACT The “salt tree”, Rhus chinensis, holds significant economic and medicinal value due to its ability to produce Galla chinensis (Chinese gall/gallnut), a plant‐derived medicinal material used in both traditional Chinese and modern medicine that is rich in tannins and flavonoids. It is also renowned for its remarkable stress tolerance.

Alternative Functional rad21 Paralogs in Fusarium oxysporum
Cohesin, the sister chromatid cohesion complex, is an essential complex that ensures faithful sister chromatid segregation in eukaryotes. It also participates in DNA repair, transcription and maintenance of chromosome structure.

ABSTRACT Soil salinization threatens the yield and quality of wheat. Roots are critical for the salt stress response, yet their cell‐type‐specific mechanisms remain unclear. We conducted the first single‐nucleus RNA sequencing analysis of wheat root tips from salt‐sensitive (CS) and ‐tolerant (DK) varieties under salt stress, profiling 188 270 high ...

Management of E. coli sister chromatid cohesion in response to genotoxic stress
Homologous recombination of DNA lesions in bacteria involves sister chromatid pairing. Here, the authors show that RecN promotes contacts between sister chromatids and facilitates repair.

The C-terminal domain of the Bloom syndrome DNA helicase is essential for genomic stability
Background Bloom syndrome is a rare cancer-prone disorder in which the cells of affected persons have a high frequency of somatic mutation and genomic instability.
