RNAP II antagonizes mitotic chromatin folding and chromosome segregation by condensin
Summary: Condensin shapes mitotic chromosomes by folding chromatin into loops, but whether it does so by DNA-loop extrusion remains speculative. Although loop-extruding cohesin is stalled by transcription, the impact of transcription on condensin, which ...

CTCF Binding Polarity Determines Chromatin Looping
CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) is an architectural protein involved in the three-dimensional (3D) organization of chromatin. In this study, we assayed the 3D genomic contact profiles of a large number of CTCF binding sites with high-resolution 4C-seq. As recently reported, our data also suggest that chromatin loops preferentially form between CTCF binding

Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.

Background Chromosomal architecture, which is constituted by chromatin loops, plays an important role in cellular functions. Gene expression and cell identity can be regulated by the chromatin loop, which is formed by proximal or distal enhancers and ...

ESCO1 and CTCF enable formation of long chromatin loops by protecting cohesinSTAG1 from WAPL
Eukaryotic genomes are folded into loops. It is thought that these are formed by cohesin complexes via extrusion, either until loop expansion is arrested by CTCF or until cohesin is removed from DNA by WAPL.

Topological Spectra and Entropy of Chromatin Loop Networks
The 3D folding of a mammalian gene can be studied by a polymer model, where the chromatin fiber is represented by a semiflexible polymer which interacts with multivalent proteins, representing complexes of DNA-binding transcription factors and RNA polymerases. This physical model leads to the natural emergence of clusters of proteins and binding sites,

Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

This study reveals that NF‐κB1‐driven TRAIP upregulation in ALD correlates with disease severity. Mechanistically, TRAIP directly binds β‐catenin via its CC domain and promotes its K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation, which is independent of the GSK3β/β‐TrCP pathway.

Auto‐Downregulation of the Florigen FT Production Prevents Precocious Flowering in Plants
This study shows that the leaf vein‐expressed FD complexes with the florigen FT to bind DNA motifs in FT promoter, which antagonizes CONSTANS‐mediated FT activation to feedback down‐regulate FT expression. This prevents an excessive induction of FT expression by inductive photoperiods, thereby precluding precocious transition to flowering in ...
