A Novel Approach to the Synthesis of 6-Amino-7-hydroxy-flavone
A novel approach to the synthesis of 6-amino-7-hydroxyflavone (1) is described. Reaction in acetone of 2′,4′-dihydroxy-5′-nitroacetophenone and benzoyl chloride in the presence of potassium carbonate affords 3-benzoyl-7-hydroxy-6 ...

The Rise of Stemphylium vesicarium: A Growing Threat to Pear Production in Europe
Brown spot of pear, caused by the fungus Stemphylium vesicarium, was reported in Italy in 1975 and only recently, due to climate change and pesticide restrictions, it became a major threat for European pear production. New knowledge on this pathogen can allow the advent of new and effective control strategies.

A new chromone from agarwood and pyrolysis products of chromone derivatives.
A new chromone, 2-(2-4'-methoxyphenylethyl) chromone (I) was isolated together with 2-(2-phenylethyl) chromone (II : flidersiachromone) from agarwood (Japanese name ; JINKOH). On pyrolysis at 150°C, I and II were found to produce 4-methoxybenzaldehyde and benzaldehyde, respectively.

Discovery of pseudobaptigenin synthase in fungal‐infected Trifolium pratense roots
Significance Statement The discovery of pseudobaptigenin synthase in red clover (CYP76F319), catalyzing the formation of a methylenedioxy bridge to convert calycosin to pseudobaptigenin. The integration of metabolomic and transcriptomic datasets to describe the defense response in red clover roots to hemibiotrophic and necrotrophic fungi.
