Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Evaluation of anti-genotoxicity of the leaf extracts of Morinda citrifolia Linn.

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2011
Morinda citrifolia Linn. (family Rubiaceae) is a small tree occurring in tropical areas of the world. The plant contains several medicinally active components that exhibit the therapeutic effects such as antibacterial, antiviral and anticancer activities.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Protective roles of exogenous polyamines on chromosomal aberrations in Hordeum vulgare exposed to salinity

open access: yesBiologia, 2010
The effects of exogenous polyamines (PAs): spermine (Spm), spermidine (Spd), cadaverine (Cad) and putrescine (Put) on mitotic activity and chromosomal aberrations in root meristem cells of Hordeum vulgare L.

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Analysis of Chromosomal Aberrations and FLT3 gene Mutations in Childhood Acute Myelogenous Leukemia Patients

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Hematology, 2012
OBJECTIVE: To identify the well-known common translocations and FLT3 mutations in childhood acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients in Turkey. METHODS: The study included 50 newly diagnosed patients in which t(15;17), t(8;21), and inv(16) chromosomal ...

Metaphase and Interphase Cytogenetics with Alu-PCR-amplified Yeast Artificial Chromosome Clones Containing the BCR Gene and the Protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erbB-21 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A human yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) library was screened by polymerase chain reaction with oligonucleotide primers defined for DNA sequences of the BCR gene and the protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erB-2.

Induction of chromosome damage by ultraviolet light and caffeine: Correlation of cytogenetic evaluation and flow karyotype [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Asynchrononously growing cells of a M3-1 Chinese hamster line were ultraviolet (UV) irradiated ( = 254 nm) with UV fluences up to 7.5 J/m2. After irradiation, cells were incubated with or without 2 mM caffeine for 20 hr, then mitotic cells were selected ...

Complementarity of Long‐Reads and Optical Mapping in Parkinson's Disease for Structural Variants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Long‐read sequencing and optical genome mapping technologies have the ability to detect large and complex structural variants. This has led to the discovery of novel pathogenic variants in neurodegenerative movement disorders. Thus, we aimed to systematically compare the SV detection capabilities of OGM and ONT in Parkinson's disease.

Micronuclei versus Chromosomal Aberrations Induced by X-Ray in Radiosensitive Mammalian Cells

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2015
Background: An experimental study was accomplished to compare estimation methods of ionizing radiations genotoxicity in mammalian cell cultures by means of two cytogenetic parameters with focus on aberrant cells characterized by multiple chromosomal ...
