Compartmentalisation in cAMP signalling: A phase separation perspective
Cells rely on precise spatiotemporal control of signalling pathways to ensure functional specificity. The compartmentalisation of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and protein kinase A (PKA) signalling enables distinct cellular responses within a crowded cytoplasmic space.

The return of metabolism: biochemistry and physiology of glycolysis
ABSTRACT Glycolysis is a fundamental metabolic pathway central to the bioenergetics and physiology of virtually all living organisms. In this comprehensive review, we explore the intricate biochemical principles and evolutionary origins of glycolytic pathways, from the classical Embden–Meyerhof–Parnas (EMP) pathway in humans to various prokaryotic and ...

ABSTRACT There is a lack of evidence‐based guidelines for supporting young people with gender dysphoria and intellectual disability in the United Kingdom. The NHS is moving towards more care being provided by non‐specialist gender services and it is unclear what this may feel like for professionals in these services.

RDH11 is a minor isoenzyme that catalyses the oxidation of 11‐cis‐retinol to 11‐cis‐retinal in the retinal pigment epithelium, alongside RDH5 and RDH10. Biallelic null variants in RDH11 lead to upregulation of RDH5 and RDH10 (transcriptional adaptation), maintaining 11‐cis‐retinal bioavailability, but still causing Retinal Pigment Epitheliopathy due to

Abortive recombination in Escherichia coli ruv mutants blocks chromosome partitioning
BACKGROUND: All the ruvA, ruvB and ruvC mutants of Escherichia coli are sensitive to treatments that damage DNA, and are mildly defective in homologous recombination. It has been reported that the ruv mutants form nonseptate, multinuclear filaments after low doses of UV irradiation, dependent on the sfiA gene product.

Hcfc1 and Ogt Mediate Zebrafish CNS Regeneration Through Hippo/Yap Signalling
This work identifies Hcfc1 and Ogt as key regulators of zebrafish CNS regeneration through modulation of Hippo/Yap signalling. Loss of Hcfc1 or Ogt activity inhibition impairs regeneration, which is restored by Yap overexpression, revealing a new regulatory axis that enhances CNS regenerative capacity.
