Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Solvation‐Mediated Shift From Solvent‐ to Anion‐Derived Solid Electrolyte Interphases for Stable Calcium Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ion‐dipole interaction based strategy is proposed to capture thermodynamically unstable solvents and restructure the coordination environment of calcium ions by introducing ionic liquid co‐solvents, thus suppressing excessive solvent decomposition. Therefore, a smooth and dense solid‐electrolyte interphase dominated by inorganic components is formed

The Synergism of β‐Cyclodextrin and Fe3+ Enabled Anti‐Swelling Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels for Multimodal Underwater Sensing Aided by Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anti‐swelling ion‐conductive hydrogel is developed via β‐cyclodextrin and Fe3+ synergism, enabling reliable underwater motion sensing and Morse code communication. Integrated with machine learning, the system achieves 98.6% accuracy in real‐time underwater handwriting recognition for rapid information transmission.

In Situ Formation of an In–Zn Interface Layer Enables Aqueous Zinc‐Ions Batteries with High Capacity Retention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates an indium zinc oxide (IZO)‐modified separator applied to aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs), which in situ generates an In–Zn interface layer to stabilize the separator/anode region during the cycling process. The In–Zn interface layer provides richer nucleation sites for Zn2+ and suppresses side reactions.

Liver Kinase B1 in CD11c+ Cells Inhibits Fibrosis in Chronic Pancreatitis via the Oncostatin M Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates significantly reduced Lkb1 expression in CD11c+ cells in chronic pancreatitis (CP) patients and animal models. Lkb1 deletion enhances CD11c+CD206+ macrophage infiltration and reprograms pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) via OSM signaling.
